I’m a female Automotive Engineering student (just completed my first year). I’m part of my universities Formula Student team, which is one of the best and most successful teams in the UK!

As you might be able to tell, I’m pretty motorsport obsessed, and I am: Formula One, MotoGP, Formula Two, Formula Renault 3.5, BTCC, WTCC, DTM, Formula Three, Formula Ford… My future is in one of them I hope, preferably Formula One ;)

I also work in in the Formula Ford 2000 race series and I’m a motorsports marshall with the BMMC!

There’s some other stuff, but I’m not going to bore you with every detail of my motorsport life. I’m proud of what I do, I’m even more proud of my university and my friends, and I’m not afraid to show it. I may well go on about them, but my university, my friends, my colleagues: they damn well deserve a bit of recognition!!

Anyway, other than that, I like a bit of tennis, foreign film, travel, culture, languages, drawing, art and so on and so on...

I’m not even into motor racing, but I watched the Senna documentary and I just thought he was amazing: insanely good and completely single-minded, but also really enigmatic and spiritual. Everyone in this country’s quite frightened by spirituality. In South America they talk a lot about being guided by a force, which makes us panic: “What force? What did it look like? Was it wearing a hat? Who do I phone up to get my own force?” Senna’s like a modern-day hero. His racing was almost like an act of poetry because it was so extreme. I’ve taken to drawing him quite a lot, and we thought about doing an animation for the show with Senna as a kind of superhero. But then [Luxury Comedy co-director] Nigel said he looked like the Stig from Top Gear."
